Ivey and Eastgate are 1st Picks for Poker's Caesars Cup Team

The inaugural Caesars Cup, poker's version of golf's Ryder Cup, will be held in London on September 25 during the 2009 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE), where 8 European poker players will compete against 8 from North American for international bragging rights. Team Captains Daniel Negreanu (N. America) and Annette Obrestad (Europe) announced their first member selection at a WSOP ceremony this week: Phil Ivey and Peter Eastgate. Other team members will be added to complete the six member teams over the weeks leading up to the WSOPE kickoff on Sept. 17. Of note, Obrestad will have one seat on her team awarded via a leaderboard race held on Betfair Poker, the presenting sponsor of the WSOP Europe."The lineup for this year's WSOPE Caesars looks like a who's who of poker." said Obrestad in a press release.She added, "The fact that a member of the public can qualify to sit alongside some of the best players in the game will be a massive attraction to players on Betfair Poker. I look forward to captaining our team to glory."
